The fund is in the form of a Gibraltar Limited Company, constituted as an Experienced Investor Fund and registered by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission. The fund will only acquire land in the UK and will only purchase sites if there is a strong likelihood of obtaining change in their permitted planning use, to generate an increase in the sites value. These sites will be carefully identified and purchased using the comprehensive land planning, development and management expertise of Silkpoint. This could be, for example, a change from agricultural or redundant industrial use to residential or commercial use.
Significant affordability issues and a chronic shortage of homes in the UK, has seen the Government set a housing target to develop 4.2 million homes over the next 20 years.
